HELLO ADVENTURISTS, This BLOG is to advise you on a matter that stopped one of my trips last year. On our HOME PAGE , I have listed all the nearby National Forest Alerts webpages. PLEASE call the ranger district (phone numbers are listed in each hike wrote up), or refer to the ALERTS section at the bottom of our HOME PAGE, BEFORE you head to the trailhead. Last year I was leading a trip to the Ward & Eagle Peaks area south of St Regis, Montana. I wanted to show my hikers a special place along the St. Joe River area, but was stopped in Avery due to a fire along the road. This cost us our planned trip. But as you may have noticed, on each write up, is a section that shows you hikes in the general area of our original trip. This can save a long drive, and gives you all an alternative place to play. ALWAYS CARRY A U.S. FOREST SERVICE MAP AND A TOPO MAP OF THE SPECIFIC AREA YOU WISH TO VISIT HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN FOILED BY WILDFIRES AND SMOKE? At the very bottom of our HOME PAGE are 4 websites, you can use, to determine if wildfires and smoke will impact your outing. It would be wise to study the 4 websites before you start planning your trip. so you know what to look for. PLEASE REFER TO ALL THE INFO LISTED ABOVE TO HELP MAKE YOUR OUTING, GO. CONTACTING US In the ABOUT drop down menu, is our contact form. PLEASE contact us a few days before your trip if you need our assistance. THANK YOU ALL FOR USING OUR LOCAL WEBSITE, DAVID & CHIC
