DESCRIPTION:
Trail #117 follows an old logging road to a junction with trail 119 at 1.4 miles, however, stay on 117 thru an old burn to a ridge top and a large rock cairn. Follow the cairns on a poor trail north to the summit of Ambercrombie Mountain. The last bit of trail is steep but not too difficult.
Trail #119 follow the N. Fork Silver Creek NE up thru 20 switchbacks to where it passes Trail 117. In about a mile, climb the steep trail to the summit.
Trail #502 climbs NNW then W to the summit after 4 switchbacks. And as above, the summit climb is steep.

OPTION #1:
To extend this hike, look NE at Hooknose Peak at a little over 2 miles.
From Abercrombie Mt., head south off the summit on Trail #117, for less then a mile to a junction with Trail #502. Turn NE onto a faint user trail heading towards Hooknose. This trail is rough in some places, so be careful.
Once at Hooknose, peer over it’s 1,100’ precipitous NE face. Also below is a view of Hooknose Lake.
