This backpack starts by crossing a swinging bridge across Fish Creek, on Trail #101. In about 3 miles, pass over the Cedar Log Creek bridge.
There is a campsite just past the creek on the right. Staying on Trail #101, for about 2 miles, you will pass by Indian Creek, while walking next to the West Fork Fish Creek. In a little less then 2 miles, there is a campsite on your right. A short distance later you will enter an Ancient Cedar Grove.
less then 2 miles after the cedars, you will come to the FoleyBasin, where you will find another campsite. Trail #101 makes a sharp switchback, and becomes Trail #114, and after two short switchbacks, you will finally be at the Lower Siamese Lake, and another campsite. Upper Siamese Lake is a short distance west, with a campsite below the State Line N. R. T. #738.
Once back on Trail #114, head left (North) towards Chilcoot Pass. At Chilcoot Pass, Trail #510 heads east down to Cedar Peak, and back to Trail #110, Cedar Log Creek.
Once you cross the bridge at Chlcoot Pass you will be on Trail #510 or 99. As you pass Straight Peak to the east, there will be several side creek crossings to navigate. Then Straight Creek Cascades are on your right.
From here you follow Straight Creek over several creek crossings until you hike past the North Fork Fish Creek. From here, it’s a short distance to the trailhead at the Clearwater Crossng.
Near the trailhead is the Hole in the Wall Lodge. They have rental cabins, a restaurant, and offer equestrian trail rides and pack trips.
