DIRECTIONS
From Spokane take I-90 west about two hours and 15 minutes going past the Wild Horse Monument and across the Columbia River to the Vantage exit 136. We hiked cross country on the north side of town from the Rocky Coulee Recreation Area trail head.
COOL THINGS CLOSE BY:
Gorge Amphitheater, Wild Horse Monument, Climbing at Frenchman Coulee
HAZARDS:
There are sections of the trail where you have to side hill for a mile or so. Short sections have some exposure. This is a sunny and windy place, so bring lots of water. I hydrate 24 hours prior to any hot dry long day and I carry two liters of water if there is no water source along the route.
DO NOT FILTER THE SCABS OPEN WATER. THE LAKES AND STREAMS ARE FULL OF AGRICULTURE RUNOFF.
