EASY QUALITY GRAVY
INGREDIENTS:
Water
Flour
Bone broth from bones you boil
Mushrooms
Salad onions
Salt
Pepper
Garlic or garlic powder
Packaged gravy mix OPTIONAL
I must say right off the bat…DO NOT USE STORE BOUGHT BROTHS.
I much prefer to boil bones, than use any store broths.
In a frying pan, pour in the bone broth, and bring to a slow boil.
In a 6-8 ounce jar, add an inch or two of flour. Depending on how thick you want the gravy.
Way back in the 60’s, my grandmother taught me how to make gravy.
She insisted on making it precisely as follows.
Add ice cold water from the refrigerator to the flour.
Cap the jar, and shake vigorously.
With a fork, slowly pour in the flour mix, and stir well with a fork, making sure it doesn’t clot. After it thickens, add chopped chicken, and what ever veggies, you desire.

At my grandparent house during feasts, I would save plenty of room for desserts. My dessert of choice was gravy over fresh soft bread.
