DESCRIPTION:
This trail starts out on the CDA River Road and heads south for 6.5 miles. It skirts Coal Creek and passes by several old mines on its way thru old growth cedars. This trail seems relentless as it climbs the same slant to the top, without switchbacks. At about 5.5 miles the trail junctions with Trail # 18. Turn right (SW) for about a mile to the summit.
DIRECTIONS:
Drive east on I-90 to exit 43 at Kingston, and head north up the CDA River Road #9 for 12.5 miles to the Coal Creek trailhead.
HAZARDS:
Long steady trail up without switchbacks.

The CDA River, the Snake Pit, views across to Silver Mountain, and Shadow & Fern Falls.
